Reviewing AI candidates

Every element the AI extracts is a candidate. The review queue on the Phase 1 Discovery tab is where candidates become part of the model — or don’t.

Each candidate is routed to a tier by its extraction confidence, how many independent sources support it, and what kind of element it is. The confidence band on a candidate shows which tier it’s in — these are routing cutoffs, not a measured accuracy rate:

Tier Routing Review
Tier 1 confidence ≥ 92%, three or more independent structured sources agree, and it’s not a high-impact type Auto-committed. No review step. The engagement lead is notified (grouped), it’s on the audit trail, and the whole extraction job can be rolled back.
Tier 2 confidence 75–92%, or a semi-structured source Batch review. Approve or reject a whole group in one click, with individual override inside the group.
Tier 3 confidence below 75%, an unstructured source, a conflict, or a high-impact type (gap, recommendation, objective) Individual review, one element at a time.

You can’t turn Tier 1 off per engagement, but if the uploader doesn’t hold write permission for a candidate’s layer, that candidate is held back for Tier 2 review instead of auto-committing.

For each candidate you can:

  • Accept — it enters the model of record.
  • Reject — it’s discarded (kept in the audit trail).
  • Edit, then accept — fix a name, level, or relationship first.
  • Merge (Tier 3) — fold it into an existing element it duplicates.
  • Defer (Tier 3) — leave it undecided for now; it stays in the queue.
  • Explain — ask the AI why it proposed this candidate.

Every candidate carries a link back to the exact passage in the source document it came from. Follow it before accepting anything you’re unsure about — it’s the fastest way to sanity-check an extraction.

If a candidate’s name collides with an element that’s already approved, eavantage blocks the accept and tells you which existing element it clashes with and who approved it. Resolve it by merging, renaming, or rejecting.

Work Tier 3 first (the risky ones), then clear Tier 2 groups. The Discovery plan status tells you when you have enough approved to move to Phase 2.
